What FTP software do you recommend?

WS_FTP is a user-friendly and powerful freeware FTP program. Although their web page implies that it costs money, their software can be downloaded and used past the 30-day trial without paying. Other good FTP programs can be downloaded from Download.com or ZDNet

What should my WS_FTP login screen look like?

You should use the FTP information we e-mailed you rather than the information above.

How do I setup WS_FTP and upload files to my site?

After running WS_FTP you should see a screen similar to the following:

Click on the "httpdocs". You should see your default index.html page. This is where you should upload all future files to.

What is my FTP host name?
Your IP address is your host name. If your domain has been registered or transferred to our servers, you can also use your domain name as your FTP host name.

What is a User ID, or FTP User Name?
These are other names for your login.

What is my default file name?
index.htm and index.html both work. However we also supprot index.cgi, and index.php3.

Where should I put my files?
The files should go in the www directory, or /domain-www

Why doesn't my password work?
First,make sure that you are typing it in correctly; some characters, such as the number 1 and the letter l, look similar.

Can I change my login or password? You can change your password, but not your login. A new password can be generated in your control panel. Your new password must be 6-8 characters long and contain at least one numerical character.
